Lots of Love in February!

February was a big month for Rising Heights! The Kalama Library had story time here and the Competition Teams had their first competition of the season while adult and ballroom classes continue to flourish.

On February 1st, the Kalama Library brought story time to the dance studio. We welcomed 30 kids, Miss Madison read 'Boys Dance' and 'Joey Finds His Jump' while the group learned a few dance moves and some of our studio favorite songs, such as "Sleeping Bunnies" and "We Are The Dinosaurs".

The weekend of the 17th, 18th and 19th Competition Teams competed at the Spotlight Cup in Portland. All of the dancers performed brilliantly! Elevation and Altitude walked away with Ruby awards, Pinnacle won a Diamond for "Tomorrow" which also won the Captivating Choreography Judges Award and Summit won an Emerald for "Man Up". Soloist Morgan won a Diamond and What an Entrance Judges Award for "Say Something" and soloist Angel took home an Emerald for "Wonderland". It was an amazing weekend, and the teams are, rightly, super proud of themselves!

Let's not forget our adults who join us regularly for our drop-in classes! Adult Dance is offered on Tuesday nights at 7:30 and rotates through 6 different dance styles, so each week is new and exciting.

Couples Ballroom is on Friday nights at 7:30, which also offers a free children's dance class during ballroom for all parent participants. It is a great way to enjoy date night and keep the kids close!
